'Leccy Caterham on the way?
Driver-focused manufacturer Caterham is set to develop a hybrid model, followed closely by an electric car.
In an effort to ‘go-green’, Caterham has bought in a hybrid powertrain from another (unnamed) manufacturer – which can fit to their existing engines.

Also on the way is an all-electric set up, again from an unknown quantity, which is said to suffer no weight gain over the petrol car. The unit they’re looking at weighs in at around the same as a petrol engine.
A one-make race series will mark the start of development for the hybrid car. It’s expected to start in 2011, with an eye to developing a road car in 2012.
